Uncle Leong - Seafood & Zi Char Delights for Family (Punggol)

Uncle Leong Seafood Restaurant, located at Tebing Lane, Punggol, is highly patronized by families for its seafood, especially crabs, and tasty local “zi char” dishes. At Uncle Leong, the few must try dishes include - Shimmering Sand Crab Delight, Gold Coast Prawn and Mee Goreng. Be greeted by many gigantic display of crabs’ shells as you enter the restaurant, which will make you not want to give the crab feast a miss.

Uncle Leong Shimmering Crab Delight

Shimmering Sand Crab Delight 金沙蟹 (Seasonal Price)

One of Uncle Leong’s signature and a must-try dish. This may perhaps be the most aesthetically appealing crab delight we have ever seen. Not only is there a ring to the name of this dish, the ingredients used in preparing this dish and it's decorations carry forth the elegance of its name - “Shimmering”. The name “shimmering” is derived from the oats drizzled over Uncle Leong’s signature sauce, which we believed consists of a combination of creamy butter and black pepper.

It tasted even better as the first sip of its sauce, bring forth a balance of savoury and sweet aftertaste alike those creamy pasta sauce with a tint of black pepper melted within. This dish made us crave for more of its sauce, especially when dipped together with the crab’s meat. It is no doubt their signature dish and a must-try for all diners.

Uncle Leong Chilli Crab

Another recommendation for crab delights will be none other than Singaporean’s all-time favourite Chilli Crab. One can expect to taste the fine balance of sweet and spicy secret concoction of the chilli crab gravy. The flavourful chilli gravy is best paired and savoured with fried buns (man tou).

Uncle Leong Cereal Prawn

Cereal Prawns 麦片虾 ($20/25/30)

At Uncle Leong, you can choose from more than 15 cooking styles for your prawns, ranging from Creamy Pumpkin to Gold Coast Prawn. We decided to stay conservative and go ahead with Cereal Prawns. The prawns at Uncle Leong were really fresh, huge and juicy. Not forgetting the generous coating of cereal. One can also smell the aroma from the curry leaves and chilli padi added on to the dish.

Uncle Leong Claypot Beancurd

Claypot Beancurd 砂锅豆腐 ($12/15/20)

Served in a claypot, Uncle Leong’s claypot beancurd consists of mixed vegetables, fattest slices of pork belly, egg, soaked in gravy. This dish is highly recommended for families with kids.

Uncle Leong Nan Ru Deep Fried Sliced Pork

Nan Ru Deep Fried Sliced Pork - Salted Egg 南乳炸肉 - 咸蛋 ($20)

This dish may not be prominently featured in the menu, but is definitely another must-try dish at Uncle Leong. Only upon special request, you will get this fried tender pork with salted egg sauce. Served in bite-sized cubes, every slice of meat has a thin layer of fat, fried with salted egg flavour to perfection. This dish is a one-off specialty which is highly recommended to be included in the main menu to reach out to more fans of salted egg delights.

Uncle Leong Mee Goreng

Mee Goreng 马来面 ($6/9/12)

Mee Goreng will be one of the main staples we would like to recommend to complement other dishes. The Mee Goreng served at Uncle Leong is definitely a must-try for chilli lovers.
