Kura Sushi 藏壽司, a renowned conveyor belt sushi concept originated from Japan, has gained popularity in Taiwan since 2014. Known for serving sushi at only NTD 40 per plate, Kura Sushi has become one of Taiwan’s top sushi restaurants. Till date, Kura Sushi has expanded to more than 22 stores across Taiwan.
At Kura Sushi, you can find more than 60 types of freshly made and quality sushi, ramen and desserts. You can choose to pick your sushi off the conveyor belt or self-order from the system and your order will be sent via the belt to your table. This interactive concept is what we believe keeps diners engaged and wanting to come back to Kura again.
We visited Kura Sushi’s newest store at Kaohsiung Taroko Park 大魯閣草衙道, which was opened on March 2020.

Roasted Sesame Boiled Scallop 香煎芝麻扇貝 (NTD 40)
Crunchy Roll 酥脆炸蝦卷 (NTD 80)
Deep-Fried Scallop Tempura 青森扇貝天婦羅 (NTD 60)
The sushi was really fresh and tasty, and we love Kura’s creativity in creating the various sushi delights.
Upon finishing your meal, your sushi plates will be counted automatically by placing them into the slot. With every 5th plate being inserted into the counter, your screen will automatically play a video showcasing Kura’s mascot in accomplishing a mission. If the character in the video was able to successfully accomplish his mission, a capsule will roll down to your table. Well, this is really an interactive concept to promote diners to clear their plates and reward them thereafter.
Once you have finished your meal, insert your empty plates into the slot. With every 5th plate being inserted, a video will be played. If you have successfully accomplished the mission, you will be rewarded with a capsule.
Overall, our first dining experience at Kura Sushi was filled with compliments. Fresh and quality sushi at affordable prices, and good service rendered, have given us more reasons to come back to Kura for more.
