Nunsaram Korean Dessert Cafe - Finest Bingsu in Town

The blazing heat is what we have to tolerate, especially when approaching the dry season. Thankfully, with the recent trend of Korean Bingsu outlets springing forth everywhere in neighbourhood, it is no doubt as to why they are highly patronised. With an intense competition happening in this line of business, and with rising expectations from consumers, Bingsu stalls have to evolve by investing in quality ingredients and equipment, to offer customers something uniquely special.

A popular Korean dessert hangout, known as Nunsaram, which means “Snowman” in Korean offers premium quality Bingsu. Unlike the typical coarse shaved ice offered at most Bingsu stalls, the quality, texture and flavour of the shaved ice at Nunsaram, will truly give you a taste of snow-like milk ice which will melt sensationally in your mouth. Offering more than 15 Bingsu flavours, Nunsaram offers diners an option to choose their desired type of snowflake ice, ranging from milk, soya milk and yogurt ice. Be sure to find a bingsu that suits your current mood and feeling.

Sesame ($10.90)

The taste of captivating dark sesame gives a rather balance taste into the natural sweetness from the red bean and yam mochi served on top. In addition, the fluffy soft and ultimately fine texture of the milk ice eventually melts in your mouth, giving you a chilling sensation. Thus, making you want to yearn for more. The sweetness was rather acceptable and one can be assured that this sweetness embodies the aftertaste of the key ingredients present in it.

InJeolMi ($10.90)

InJeolMi, Bingsu overloaded with chestnut powder, is one of their newest invention and a popular choice among diners. Filled with nutty ingredients such as almonds, nuts, and mochi. The Bingsu might get slightly dry after a few spoons. But the dryness has been very much masked by the rich and moisture from the shaved milk ice from beneath. This item is less sweet in comparison to the Sesame Bingsu, but is rather complex with its mixture of rough nuts and soft mochi that jumbles up the tint of bitterness and sweetness in perfect balance. You can pour more yogurt over the Bingsu if you prefer yours to be sweeter.

What we love about milk bingsu, is the soft texture and sweetness from the ice when it lingers in our mouths. Here at Nunsaram, we were truly amazed by the superior quality of the shaved ice. Firstly, the quality of shaved ice served for every bowl was consistently fine and one could even proclaim that it's flawless. Secondly, the storefront displays and interiors that greeted us all the way to the golden spoons provided, shows how sincere Nunsaram is at pampering their customers with a grand experience. Lastly, their Bingsu were priced affordably, ranging from $8 to $12 per bowl, which makes Bingsu even more valued for money, unlike most extravagant ones, ranging from $18 to $20 per bowl. These three factors alone were enough to convince us for more repeat visits.
